We drove up a 20 kilometer dirt road that we saw behind Las Leñas, the famous ski resort in Mendoza. I'm continually impressed by how well a standard Toyota Corolla holds up to the beatings we give it. This shot is from the top of the pass (see map here), just before we dropped down into Valle Hermoso (‘beautiful valley' which it truly is.). The winds were so strong, I hid behind a wall and held onto the palette so it wouldn't blow away. A gust of wind caught my backpack and nearly blew it over a rather steep drop off, so we weighted it down with a couple of large rocks. I managed to get a decent study finished ( Paso a Valle Hermoso )
