Carson Peak, June Lakes
6 x 8″ Oil on Canvas Board
I've spent a lot of time in and around June Lakes, California. When I was first learning to paint en plein-air, this is where I would practice.
I tried to drive up once every summer. I'd camp out at the Silverlake Campground, pitch a tent, and try to be out painting at sunrise.
Now I live in Mammoth, just 45 minutes south of June Lakes, and I can come paint anytime I want. Pure Bliss!
This was painted on Gull Lake looking towards Carson Peak.
